Our Story…

The story of BBQ Cafe is a simple one.  It’s a story of three friends who grew up simply, ate simply, and ate well.  They’ve seen success in a wide variety of experiences, from family to finance to food.  They like to have fun, and like to have it together.  And barbecue, as we all know, is fun.  It’s fun to cook, it’s fun to eat, and it’s fun to serve.  It’s about spending extended time together to create something tasty.  Barbecue and friendship have a lot in common.  

Our trio of friends includes one who has been preparing barbecue for decades in Mississippi; another who made the journey across the time zone line to Georgia and the richness of life brought the third to the mix.

Life’s richness is about sharing and the three knew it was time to bring their favorite barbecue from Mississippi to Decatur.  It was time to give Decatur a “Taste of the ‘Sip.”

Their goal is not to create an Atlanta-style barbecue; but rather, to give these simple, consistent recipes with deep Magnolia State roots a Peach State address.  Those who love barbecue usually have an opinion about it -  a strong one, not easily swayed by mere mortals.  Is there such a thing as the “best” barbecue?  Or is it more accurate to say it’s someone’s “favorite?” The smoky goodness of BBQ Cafe is the favorite of these three lifelong friends, along with many others who have had the chance to experience it.  Now Decatur is a part of that experience. It’s barbecue worthy of being your favorite.
